Release new feature: set quantity break for COGS at the product level
Recently, we released the COGS quantity break feature at the variant level. In order to bring the useful feature for our customers, we continue developing it, it's available for the product level now.
Please go to Calculation > Product Cost > click on the Edit icon at the product you want to edit, you can see 2 options to set up the COGS: Fixed price and Price range.
I. Fixed price
Fixed price is a COGS of an item. The total COGS of the same multiple items will be multiplied.

If you tick on Calculate all items as product, you can not edit the COGS of variants in this product. This means if an order has multiple variants of this product, the total COGS will be multiplied the items with the COGS of product.
II. Price range
With Price range, you can set the COGS based on item quantity.
1. Quantity break for COGS at the Variant level
If you want to set up the different COGS based on quantity for each variant. Please note: you don't tick on Calculate all items as product
In order clarifying this feature, please let me show you an example:
You have T-shirt product with the COGS for white item and black item as following:
White item
- 1 item: $10/item
- From 2 to 4 items: $9/item
- From 5 to 9 items: $7/item
- From 10 onwards: $5/item

Black item
- 1 item: $15/item
- From 2 to 4 items: $13/item
- From 5 to 9 items: $10/item
- From 10 onwards: $7/item

For these settings, let me to show you some examples to clarify it:
- If you have an order has 5 items of the T-shirt: 5 black. The total COGS = (15*1) + (13*3) + (10*1) = $64
- If you have an order has 5 items of the T-shirt: 3 white and 2 black. The total COGS = (10*1) + (9*2) + (15*1) + (13*1) = $56
You can also choose one or multiple variants for the setting.

2. Quantity break for COGS at the Product level
If you have the same COGS based on quantity for all variants, and you want to calculate the COGS as product level, please tick on Calculate all items as product. This leads you can not edit the COGS of variants in this product.
If an order has multiple variants of this product, all variants will be considered as the same variant.
For example, you have T-shirt product with the same COGS for white item and black item as following:
- 1 item: $10/item
- From 2 to 4 items: $9/item
- From 5 to 9 items: $7/item
- From 10 onwards: $5/item

For this settings, let me to show you some examples to clarify it:
- If you have an order has 5 items of the T-shirt: 5 black. The total COGS = (10*1) + (9*3) + (7*1) = $44
- If you have an order has 5 items of the T-shirt: 3 white and 2 black. The total COGS = 10*1) + (9*3) + (7*1) = $44
