# Setting up Affiliate Commission rate


# What is Affiliate Commission Fees?

According to TikTok, Affiliate Commission Fees are payments to affiliate creators for orders they sell. This fee is calculated and shown in your Settlement breakdown using the formula:

# How TrueProfit estimates Affiliate Commission fee for unsettled orders

TrueProfit syncs and reports these fees in your **Dashboard** and **Orders Report** as soon as an order is settled on TikTok.

For new orders awaiting settlement, TrueProfit estimates your **Affiliate Commissions** using a **rate** based on your historical fees:

|| **Affiliate Commission Rate = Total Affiliate Commissions / Total Net Sales**.

Since your **Total Net Sales** amount can vary over different periods, we've pre-calculated several Affiliate Commission Rates. Use these as a reference to set and **apply rates for unsettled orders** in TrueProfit.

### Setting up Affiliate Commission rate for unsettled orders

1. In the app, navigate to **Affiliate Commissions** in the Cost Settings section

2. By default, your Affiliate Commission rate is 0%. Click **Change** to get started.

3. In the pop up, you'll see three pre-calculated Affiliate Commission Rates **based on different time periods of Net Sales** in real-time.

4. Select a date range that is the closest to your actual Affiliate Commissions or enter a Custom Rate that best fit your shop, then **Save** your change.

5. Once a new rate is applied, TrueProfit will use it to **estimate your Affiliate Commissions for unsettled orders** and apply it to cost calculations in the Dashboard.
